Octane Enhancers from Crop Oils

Description

This study is geared towards generating octane enhancers for 100LL Avgas which will meet all 100LL specifications. The main objective of this project is to produce a replacement for lead additives to increase octane in aviation gasoline without hindering the performance, efficiency, and safety of aircraft engines. In this study, crop oils are the target feed stock to produce the replacement octane enhancers needed for a lead-free 100-octane rated AvGas. These octane enhancers, which are aromatic- and cycloparaffin-rich organic liquid product (OLP), will maintain the required high octane rating for AvGas without any adverse environmental or health impact.
