FDM -GASIA & sharing phase II
Two parallel grant requests will be made, one from the University of North Dakota (UND) with Prof. Jim Higgins Principal Investigator, and one from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) with Dr. David Esser Principal Investigator. Both grant requests will share a common name and common timeline. The grant awards and expected outcomes will not necessarily be the same. In GASIAS:II, ERAU aircraft will be equipped with FDM recording devices and the flight data will be uploaded to a centralized flight information database. This centralized flight information repository will be the initiation a national aggregated database of general aviation flight data information. The data repository will be called the National General Aviation Flight Information Database (NGAFID).
