Contracting through CGAR

CGAR provides an opportunity for government to contract to CGAR member academic institutions and industry affliates. Although the process for submitting or responding to contract proposals are identical to the grants process, there are notable differences insofar as contracts define specific deliverables. Therefore, Statements of Work, Schedules and Costs are generally more detailed and performance expectations are greater. To this degree progress payments may be tied to deliverables.

Responding to a Government or Industry Grant or Contract Proposal Request

FAA research requests, as well as other research proposed by government and industry, that are within the purview of CGAR will be posted on the CGAR website. These posting will generate email notification to all researchers within one of the 29 identified research domains. Individual researchers within this domain should contact the designated research domain Team Lead to coordinate a collective research response. Again, FAA will provide a priority to coordinated proposal inclusive of multiple institutions.

Quarterly and Final Reports

Quarterly Project Reports must be submitted via the CGAR web site at least every three months no later than January 15 (1st Quarter), April 15 (2nd Quarter), July 15 (Third Quarter), and October 15 (Fourth Quarter). Status reports can be made or reviewed at anytime. A Final Project Report must be completed at the conclusion of the project.

The respective academic institution Principal Investigator or Project Lead is responsible for the Project Reports to define work status/accomplishments, funding, participation, and future plans. Future funding may be dependent upon timely and accurate reporting by the PI/PD or Project Lead.

To complete a Quarterly Project Report log on to the web site and "click" on Quarterly Project Reports, enter your Approved or Password, then enter the Project Reference Number. If the project is supported by multiple institutions, choose your respective institution to complete the necessary information by quarter. When you are done "click" on "Update Record".
